Second trip to Christina Tossi's brilliant dessert empire

110 Wall St, New York, NY 10005, USA

Ok so I've said how obsessed I am with Christina Tossi and her desserts, but my most anticipated dessert to try of hers was the Crack Pie (now named Milk Bar Pie). The name behind this pie came from the fact that when Christina first made this pie for her colleagues, they could not stop eating it. I had no idea what it would taste like but I could only imagine it would be so tasty. MY GOD. This was unbelievable. I can only describe it as the filling and biscuit base of a caramel slice. It was quite dense and had a crunchy crumbly base and edge. The filling was prominently a caramel/sweet flavour and was very moreish. I ate this in literally 3 seconds, it was kinda small but I didn't care. We also tried a compost cookie, which is basically a choc chip cookie with bits of pretzels and chips through it. The cookie was chewy and crunchy. The sweet/salty flavour was pretty nice but was kinda strange. Still ate this happily but wasn't as mind blowing as the crack pie.

And of course, we went like 5 other times because it was so good and this location was so close to where we were staying.

One of Christina's most famous and brilliant discoveries was Cereal Milk. She infused corn flakes into milk and used that to create soft serve, icecream and milk shakes.

Now this was unbelievably brilliant. The added corn flake crunch around the outside made this for me. But the flavour of the soft serve was perfection. It was EXACTLY the same flavour of eating corn flakes with milk. It was so creamy and milky and sweet and the added crunch was so good. Seriously amazing.
