Huge lines for one of New York's best bagels

831 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10022, USA

First bagel in New York! We didn't anticipate how busy this place would be, especially on Memorial Day. We did have to wait in line for a while but I can tell you it was so worth it. I wanted to try the bagel in all its glory so I decided to just try some Everything Bagels with cream cheese. Ess-a-bagel have a massive spread of cream cheese flavours, it was actually crazy. But we chose to get scallion cream cheese, sun dried tomato cream cheese and jalapeno cream cheese. I chose to have my cream cheeses separate to my sliced bagel so I could try the bagel by itself as well as put on as much/as little cream cheese as I want (because they load it on). The bagel was out of this world. I was honestly shocked to my very core how good this tasted. I mean, it's a bagel how good could it be. IT WAS SO GOOD. The outside was beyond crunchy and chewy with heaps of flavour in the coating. But the inside. oh my god. It was like memory foam. I literally squished it with my thumb and it bounced back like a mattress. It was so airy and chewy and light. I could go on and on and on about how good this was seriously. The sun dried tomato was my top pick for the cream cheese. But actually that with the scallion cream cheese was a great combo in the same bite. I should mention this was a huge bagel too. Worth the wait and price!
