Donut market stand hiding inside Urbanspace Vanderbilt
East 45th &, Vanderbilt Ave, New York, NY 10169, United States

So after trying Beiler's Donuts in Philly, my expectations for New York donuts were pretty damn high. Dough Donuts seemed to have a pretty good rating for donuts in the city and we stumbled upon a market stall location inside an Urbanspace hall. The hall was similar to Grand Central Market in LA or the Reading Terminal Market in Philly, where it was basically a food hall of some really fantastic local vendors. We tried the lemon poppyseed donut and a plain vanilla glazed donut. These were humungous, and quite pricey. The lemon flavour was pretty nice, but the donut dough and texture was lacking. It was almost like a cake. Quite crumbly and overly sweet. It didn't have the elasticity or crunch that I was after. So a tad disappointing.
