Pounds and pounds of authentic Texan BBQ
609 N La Brea Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036, USA

Of course, we're in America, we had to try some BBQ. And this was undoubtably America on a plate. Ok first. The cornbread. Insane. I will forever be craving this cornbread. It was so buttery and crispy and perfect for soaking up some meat juices. The brisket was unbelievable. So so so so soooo tender. Literally fell apart in pieces when you tried to pick a piece up. INSANE amount of smoke. Like so much smoke. The pulled pork was brilliant. Not drowned in BBQ sauce or dry like many typical pulled pork dishes I've tried, but lightly smoked and very tender and juicy. The ribs..homagawd. The spice rub was brilliant. I've honestly never tried juicier more tender ribs in my life. Again, they didn't have a sticky bbq sauce all over them, but were more of a dry spice rub. We got both rib tips and a half rack of ribs. This was too much though, cus they were basically the same thing. Also we stuffed up ordering as everything was by the pound and was hard to perceive how big the portions were going to be. And we definitely over ordered. We got half a pound too much of brisket and the 1/2 pound of rib tips were unnecessary. Still incredible, but as the meat was so so smokey it became sickly after eating a lot. But the coleslaw and pickles are a must. They cut through heaps of the smoke and were really fresh and tasty.
